AIS Collector

Overview

Collects AIS (Automatic Identification System) signals from vessels in the Baltic Sea (53–62°N, 18–32°E). Each record contains MMSI, position, speed, course, and vessel name.

Schedule

Every 15 minutes via Dagu.

Data source

Publicly available AIS vessel tracking feeds.

Processing

1. Query AIS data provider for vessels within the Baltic bounding box
2. Record MMSI, position, speed, course, vessel name, vessel type
3. Compute per-country vessel counts using regional maritime zones
4. Flag vessels near critical infrastructure (pipelines, cables)
5. Submit to ingest API
